Buenos días!
Comenzamos Septiembre, nuevos proyectos y continuidad de otros, ideas geniales y planes interesantes que compartir con vosotros. Me gusta empezar este mes con esta especie, llevaba tiempo queriendo fotografiarla. Es la cigüeñuela común (Himantopus himantopus), la limícola reproductora más extendida en nuestro país. Es muy peculiar de ella el canto que tiene cuando se siente molestada o amenazada, y sus larguísimas patas rojizas y el pico largo y fino le caracterizan.
Es de amplia distribución y a pesar de no ser una especie amenazada, la destrucción y degradación de humedales por malas prácticas agrícolas o especies como la gaviota patiamarilla, con la que compite principalmente por el territorio de cría, hacen que la cigüeñuela esté incluida en el Catálogo Nacional de Especies Amenazadas en la categoría "De interés especial".

It is widely distributed and despite the fact that it is not a threatened species, the destruction and degradation of wetlands due to poor agricultural practices or species such as the yellow-legged gull, which competes mainly for breeding territory, makes the stilt is included in the Catalog National Endangered Species in the "Special interest" category.
