FRANCIA A COLOR

Buenos días! 

Nuevo post sobre un sitio especial! Uno de los sitios donde he estado estos días de vacaciones es en Francia como ya sabéis, y el primer post tenía que ser sobre lavanda (Lavandula sp.). símbolo de la Provenza, una de las regiones más conocidas de Francia. 

Hemos recorrido bastantes lugares que os iré enseñando poco a poco en los posts, de momento comienzo con estas fotos de esta especie tan conocida. 

Las propiedades de la lavanda son conocidas desde la Antigüedad, cuando las flores perfumaban el agua en los baños. En la Edad Media, se descubre su poder desinfectante, y en el Renacimiento se desarrolla el comercio del aceite esencial. 

Me llamó mucho la atención que muchas casitas tuvieses en la puerta una caja con flores de lavanda secándose, y es que es muy apreciada por sus virtudes calmantes, cicatrizantes y antisépticas. Se utiliza también en aromaterapia y mantiene todas sus propiedades terapéuticas. 

La cultura de las flores que tienen en esa zona es, sin duda, maravillosa. Os animo a visitar esta región francesa!

Good Morning!

New post of a special place! One of the places where I've been these holidays is in France as you know, and the first post had to be about lavender (Lavandula sp.). symbol of Provence, one of the most popular regions of France.

We have benn in many places that I will show you in more posts, start now with these pictures of this so known species.

Lavender properties are known since ancient times, when flowers scented the water in the bathrooms. In the Middle Ages, it was discovered its disinfecting power, and the Renaissance essential oil trade develops.

It caught my attention that many houses had a box in the door with lavender flowers drying, and it is very appreciated for its soothing virtues, healing and antiseptic. It is also used in aromatherapy and keeps all its therapeutic properties.

The culture of flowers that are in that area is certainly wonderful. I encourage you to visit this French region!
