EUROPEAN RABBIT

@fotografialauraraya Besos!

Good Morning!
Be having breakfast at home, take the camera and find this! Yes, it has been my morning surprise. I guess everyone will have recognized... exactly! An Oryctolagus cuniculus (European Rabbit). This time it was easy! But even if you know what species it is, I want to tell you more about it, you always learn something. Here I go ...
It belongs to the Leporidae family. It may seem at first glance a little hare but really are very different. His ears up to 7 cm help regulate body temperature. The males have broader head than females but there is no sexual dimorphism itself.
Its incisors are continually growing so they should wear them daily. Regarding its ethology (you know this is the part I find more interesting to tell you), it is a gregarious and territorial animal, living between 6 and 10 individuals adults in a burrow, in which spend most of the day. They have nocturnal habits, they spend all night eating outside. They hit the ground with their hind legs when they are angry or afraid.
As for the food, the European rabbit is caecotrophy, so that its rich in bacteria and proteins, ingests loose stools for a second digestive transit. ¿Had some knowledge this feeding two times?
I'll tell you more about this species! Now enjoy the weekend! I see you by instagram! @fotografialauraraya
 Kisses!
